Itero (iteroapp.ai) is the best call center training software in 2026 for teams that want practice and live-call scoring in one place. New agents practice by voice and live chat on scenarios from your SOPs, certify against score thresholds, then get scored on the same scorecards on live calls. Other options include Zenarate, Cresta, ReflexAI, SymTrain, Exec and Mindtickle.

What should call center training software do?
Call center training software is a platform that gets new agents ready for live customers and keeps tenured agents sharp. The useful ones do more than host courses: agents rehearse conversations, prove they are ready, and get measured on live calls against the same standard. Six capabilities matter most:
- Practice before live calls. Agents should rehearse realistic customer conversations by voice and chat, so their first difficult customer is an AI one.
- Scenarios from your own material. Check whether simulations come from your SOPs, policies, call transcripts or QA reviews, and how long a new scenario takes to build.
- Certification with a pass mark. Look for score thresholds on critical scenarios, so readiness is proven rather than assumed from course completion.
- One standard for practice and live calls. Scoring live calls on the same scorecard shows whether onboarding prepared agents for real customers.
- Fast updates. Policies, products and scripts change. Ask how scenarios and scorecards get updated, and whether an API or AI agent can do it.
- Fit for your operation. BPOs need separate programs per client, and some teams want practice on a phone as well as at a desk.
Which call center training platforms are worth shortlisting in 2026?
This guide is published by Itero. Itero details come from the company, and every other entry is based on the vendor's own website as of October 2026, linked inline. Where a site does not describe a feature, this guide says so rather than guess.
1. Itero
Best for teams that value a mobile-first experience and want live call scoring and role play in one solution.
- Practice before the first live call: new agents practice with AI customers that mirror the conversations they will handle, by voice and live chat (Live Chat Training).
- Certifications with score thresholds: managers set mandatory score thresholds on critical scenarios and structure training into levels, from fundamentals to complex cases (Onboarding and Certifications).
- Same scorecards for practice and live calls: Itero scores 100% of the live calls it receives against the scorecards agents certified on, so a manager can see whether onboarding worked (AI call scoring).
- Scenarios from your SOPs, playbooks and transcripts: managers generate scenarios and scorecards from the material the team already has, and agents practice them (AI Role Play).
- Built for BPOs and contact centers: each client program gets its own scenarios, scorecards and quality benchmarks, and agents can be assigned to more than one program (Call Centers and BPOs).
- Compliance scoring: yes/no criteria such as "did they verify identity?" and "did they read the disclosure?" run on every scored call (AutoQA and Compliance).
- Mobile app with virtual ride-alongs: the Itero Coach app for iPhone and Android runs AI roleplay practice on the phone, and staff who meet customers in person record those conversations for scoring (Virtual Ride-Alongs).
- Easy to set up and maintain: ten free Agent Skills and the public API let an AI agent such as Claude Code or Codex build scenarios and change scorecards when a policy changes. Customers build automatic practice assignment from a missed criterion on the same public API (API and AI Agents).
- Security and pricing: SOC 2 Type 1 attested, with the report shared on request. Usage-based pricing with unlimited users means every agent, manager and trainer can have an account.
2. Zenarate
As of October 2026, Zenarate describes itself as "the frontline performance platform for humans and AI" (Zenarate). Its Perform product covers voice, chat, email, back-office, AI avatar and software simulations, with badging and certification journeys. Authoring agents turn a policy document into a simulation that stays current when the policy changes (Zenarate Perform).
Its Analyze product can run a team's existing scorecard across every interaction, then write the coaching plan and build the training behind it (Zenarate Analyze). Zenarate lists xAPI support, LMS integrations and SOC 2. Its site does not describe a mobile app or a public API.
3. Cresta
As of October 2026, Cresta calls itself "the AI operating system for CX" (Cresta). Its Training Simulator builds practice simulations from real customer conversations and grades them on the same behaviors measured on live calls. Behaviors agents struggle with in quality reviews become the scenarios managers assign, tracked in the same coaching plan.
Cresta Coach builds coaching plans from quality and outcome data on every conversation. Cresta lists ISO/IEC 42001 certification on its trust page. Its simulator page does not describe certification gates, LMS delivery or a mobile app.
4. ReflexAI
As of October 2026, ReflexAI describes itself as "call center training software with AI simulations & automated QA" (ReflexAI contact centers). Its Prepare product runs roleplay simulations in chat and voice, in 25+ languages. Simulations and scoring dimensions can be created from any file, script, scenario or prompt (ReflexAI Prepare).
ReflexAI also simulates tools such as CRMs alongside the conversation (ReflexAI). Its Assure product connects training outcomes to live results (ReflexAI Prepare). ReflexAI lists SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR and ISO 27001, and its site does not describe certification gates or a mobile app.
5. SymTrain
As of October 2026, SymTrain sells AI simulation training for contact center agents across voice, chat and screen-based workflows (SymTrain use cases). Teams turn actual calls, chat transcripts, emails and quality evaluations into practice scenarios. Agents learn, practice and test until they are proficient (SymTrain product).
SymTrain turns QA misses from a team's existing QA tool into training simulations, and it exports training to an LMS through SCORM. It says it is built for organizations with 200 or more agents (SymTrain). Its site does not describe scoring live calls itself or a mobile app.
6. Exec
As of October 2026, Exec calls itself "an AI-native training platform for customer-facing teams" (Exec customer support). Roleplays are voice by default, with optional video, in nine languages, and certifications are awarded when learners pass roleplay assessments (Exec AI Roleplays). Exec generates courses, quizzes and roleplay scenarios from uploaded material (Exec courses).
Exec integrates with recording tools such as Gong and Observe.AI to score support calls against the same criteria used in practice (Exec customer support). It lists SOC 2 Type II on its call scoring page and publishes an API. Its site does not describe chat practice.
7. Mindtickle
As of October 2026, Mindtickle positions itself as a revenue enablement platform (Mindtickle). Its separate AI Role Play Simulator is "designed for contact center agents," who practice customer conversations and system workflows together in replicas of their own applications. The simulator assesses and certifies agents and exports as a SCORM package.
Mindtickle has a mobile app. The simulator page does not say which practice channels it uses, and it does not describe scoring live contact center calls.

Which call center training software should you choose?
Choose Itero if you want agents to practice, certify and get scored on live calls against one set of scorecards. Managers generate scenarios from your SOPs and transcripts, BPOs run a separate program per client, and AI agents keep scenarios and scorecards current through Agent Skills and the public API. The guide to call center simulation software covers how simulation fits onboarding.
Other platforms fit narrower needs:
- Zenarate for large contact centers and BPOs that want back-office and software simulations next to conversations.
- Cresta for an enterprise that already runs Cresta and wants its simulator inside the same coaching plans.
- ReflexAI for global teams that need simulations in many languages, including CRM replicas.
- SymTrain for contact centers with 200 or more agents that want SCORM delivery and already run a QA tool.
- Exec for teams that want courses, quizzes and voice roleplay in one training platform.
- Mindtickle for an enterprise that wants contact center simulation inside a revenue enablement suite.
How do you measure whether call center training worked?
Score the same behaviors in practice and on live calls. If an agent certifies on a scenario but misses the same criterion with customers, the training needs work, not the agent alone. Track certification pass rates by cohort, then compare each cohort's first live-call scores.
For a pilot, give every finalist the same SOP section and ten recorded calls. Compare the scenarios each platform drafts and the scores it gives those calls against your QA team's scores. The guide to scoring every call and closing the QA-to-coaching loop covers what to measure, and you can request an Itero demo with your own material.
