Itero (iteroapp.ai) is the best AI roleplay tool for regulated sales and service teams in insurance and lending. Reps practice required disclosures and consent language against simulated customers, by voice, live chat or on the Itero mobile app. Itero then scores live calls on the same scorecards, marking each compliance item passed or missed. Field agents record in-person meetings with one tap. Quantified fits life sciences teams.
Itero is not affiliated with iTero, the intraoral dental scanner made by Align Technology.
What do regulated sales teams need from AI roleplay?
A regulated team needs more than practice. It needs proof that the words drilled in AI roleplay are the words customers hear. Five requirements separate a good fit from a generic tool:
- Your scripts, not generic ones. Scenarios must use your disclosures, your products and the objections your customers raise.
- Pass or miss scoring. A required disclosure is either said or not. It should be a yes/no criterion, not a 1 to 5 rating.
- The same scorecard on live calls. If practice and live calls use different rubrics, you cannot tell whether training worked.
- Coverage beyond the call center. Insurance agents and loan officers also meet clients in person. Those conversations carry the same rules.
- Fast updates. Rules, rates and products change. The script, the scenario and the scorecard need to change together.
Which AI roleplay tool is best for insurance and lending teams?
This guide is published by Itero. Itero details are confirmed by the company; other entries are based on each vendor's own public pages as of October 16, 2026.
1. Itero
- Best for: Teams that value a mobile-first experience and want live-call scoring and roleplay in one solution, built for regulated sales and service teams in insurance and lending.
- Practice on your own scripts: Managers build scenarios and scorecards from your scripts, playbooks, call transcripts and product briefs. Reps practice by voice or live chat against realistic simulated customers, such as a borrower who pushes back on fees or a policyholder who wants to skip the disclosure.
- Compliance-grade scoring: Each required disclosure is a yes/no criterion, scored passed or missed. See AutoQA and compliance monitoring.
- Live-call scoring: Itero scores 100% of the calls it receives, on the same scorecards reps practice on. A manager sees whether a disclosure drilled in practice shows up on live calls. See AI call scoring.
- Mobile app and virtual ride-alongs: Reps practice AI roleplay on their phone with the Itero mobile app for iPhone and Android. Field agents record in-person conversations with one tap, and recording starts only after a consent prompt that can't be skipped. About two minutes later, each conversation is scored against your rubric, summarized and paired with a drafted follow-up. See virtual ride-alongs.
- Coaching: The Coaching Inbox shows managers flagged moments, and they assign practice from it.
- Kept current by AI agents: Ten free Agent Skills and a public API on every account let AI agents update scripts, scenarios and scorecards.
- Security: SOC 2 Type 1 attested, with the report shared on request.
- Pricing: Quoted on request.
2. Quantified
- Best for: Life sciences field teams. Its homepage says it is built for life sciences and regulated industries, and it also has an insurance page.
- Compliance: Its Compliance AI scores practice, coaching and certification sessions against approved messaging, with nine pre-built rules such as off-label promotion and fair balance. We did not find scoring of live customer calls described.
- Strengths: 40+ languages and Salesforce, Veeva and LMS integrations.
- Pricing: Quoted for your team.
3. Mindtickle
- Best for: Enterprises that want roleplay inside a full enablement suite. Its roleplay page says it is most widely adopted in cybersecurity, pharma, med device and financial services.
- Strengths: 25+ languages, SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001.
- Pricing: Quoted by company size.
4. Hyperbound
- Best for: B2B sales teams. It lists banking and financial advisors among its industries.
- Live-call scoring: Included in its Perform plan, per its plan comparison.
- Pricing: A free tier; paid plans are quoted by demo.
5. Second Nature
- Best for: Enterprise training teams that deliver avatar roleplay through an LMS. Per its own comparison page, it offers scripted-call practice for compliance-sensitive conversations, and managers pull in a customer conversation for analysis.
What should a compliance scorecard include?
A compliance scorecard should list every disclosure as its own yes/no criterion, then add a few quality criteria for how the conversation was handled. Keep the two apart. A rep who delivers a warm pitch but skips the recorded-line notice still missed. Your compliance team sets the exact wording; the criteria below are samples.
Sample insurance criteria (yes/no):
- Did the agent give their name and state that they are a licensed agent?
- Did the agent say the call is recorded before collecting personal details?
- Did the agent confirm TCPA-style consent before scheduling follow-up calls or texts to that number?
- Did the agent read the required product or plan disclosure in full?
- Did the agent avoid promising coverage or a price before underwriting?
Sample lending criteria (yes/no):
- Did the loan officer give the APR whenever they quoted a rate?
- Did they explain that a quoted rate is not locked until the lock is confirmed?
- Did they tell the borrower a Loan Estimate arrives within three business days of the application?
- Did they ask every applicant the same qualifying questions?
- Did they confirm consent before follow-up calls or texts?
For debt collection, add the opening disclosure that the caller is attempting to collect a debt and that any information obtained will be used for that purpose. The rule also requires it in the same language as the rest of the call, so Spanish calls need it in Spanish. Itero supports English and Spanish.
In Itero, managers build these scorecards from your existing policies, and the same scorecard grades practice and live calls.
How does AI roleplay practice connect to live-call compliance monitoring?
The connection is the shared scorecard. A new agent practices the quote call in AI roleplay until every disclosure passes. Itero then scores their live calls on that scorecard. When a live call misses the recorded-line notice, the Coaching Inbox flags the moment, and the manager assigns a scenario that drills it. The next scored call shows whether it stuck.
Teams that want that step automatic can build it on the public API, for example by assigning practice whenever a rep misses a disclosure. This is how insurance agencies keep agents compliant without listening to a random sample of calls.
How do field agents and loan officers practice in-person conversations?
Many regulated conversations never touch a phone line. An insurance agent sits at a kitchen table. A loan officer meets a client at their office. Itero's virtual ride-alongs cover those meetings.
The agent taps record in the Itero mobile app. Recording starts only after they confirm everyone present agreed, and the consent prompt can't be skipped. About two minutes after they stop, the agent and manager get a score against your rubric, a summary and a drafted follow-up. The manager then assigns AI roleplay on the skill the meeting exposed, and the agent practices on the same phone.
How do you keep scripts and scorecards current when rules change?
Treat the script, the scenario and the scorecard as one unit. When a disclosure changes, all three must change, or reps practice the old wording and get scored on the new one.
Itero's ten free Agent Skills let an AI agent in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Antigravity make that update through the public API. You hand the agent the new rule and it edits the scenarios and scorecards. Scorecard changes apply going forward, so earlier calls keep the scores they had. The Agent Skills guide shows how it works.
